Hello!
Charlotte Lilly George is an artist, illustrator, and designer based in Northampton, UK.
Charlotte uses visual storytelling to form mythologies in which to communicate ideas surrounding gender, sexuality and mental health. Inspired by the glamour and decadence of the 20th century, she creates illustrations with decorative elements and Art Nouveau inspired compositions.
She has worked on a wide range of projects – editorial, game art, comics, and advertising. She is a diverse practitioner who enjoys approaching new and unique projects. Finding new and interesting ways to tell stories about women and queer individuals is what drives her practice. Being commissioned by the Arts University Bournemouth Student Union, she was able to create digital media and physical posters to advertise Women’s History Month.
To the Moon and Back, a short wordless narrative which explores the Sapphic relationship between the stars and the moon, was shortlisted for the Creative Conscience Award 2023 for its exploration into the experiences of queer individuals.
She has also been featured in the official award-winning student magazine BUMF for her illustration which explored the theme of rhythm within the context of anxiety disorder.
